The wrapper class for an item's WhiteboardItemBase.Tag: wb-tag-<slug>, where the slug
is lower-cased, every run of characters outside a-z0-9 becomes one dash, leading/trailing
dashes are dropped and the result is capped at WHITEBOARD_TAG_MAX_CHARS. An empty or
whitespace-only tag yields '' (no class), so templates can append the result unconditionally.
