    Interface VolatileStateMessageMetadata

The one piece of message metadata the framework and the providers agree on: volatileState marks a message the agent layer appended for THIS request only — per-iteration runtime state that is rebuilt every call and never persisted. Providers use it to keep such a message OUT of their cached prefix. The agent layer's fuller metadata type extends this shape; this is the narrow structural contract a driver may rely on without depending on the agents package.
