    One thing a check found wrong.

    interface Violation {
        File: string;
        Line: number;
        Message: string;
        Package?: string;
        Severity?: "warn" | "error";
    }

    Properties

    File: string

    Repo-relative path of the offending file.

    Line: number

    1-based line, or 0 for a whole-file / manifest finding.

    Message: string

    What is wrong, and — always — what to do instead.

    Package?: string

    The package the file belongs to, when the check knows it.

    Severity?: "warn" | "error"

    Severity for THIS finding, overriding the check's configured severity.

    Exists so one check can hard-fail the trees a repo has cleaned while still reporting the ones it has not. Without it, a rule with a long tail has only two settings — error, which no repo can adopt until the tail is gone, and warn, which does not stop the tail growing. A check that cleans up gradually needs both at once, per violation.

    Omit it and the finding takes the check's own severity, which is what every existing check does — so adding this field changed no result.
