MemberJunction Certified Program

The MemberJunction Certified Program authorizes qualified firms to provide professional services using MemberJunction. Under MemberJunction’s Business Source License 1.1, production use of MemberJunction for professional services requires certification through this program.

MemberJunction is free and unrestricted for nonprofits. Certification applies only to firms providing professional services to clients using post-BUSL versions of MemberJunction.

If your firm provides implementation, integration, customization, or consulting services to clients using MemberJunction, you need to be a MemberJunction Certified Partner. This applies to work performed in a client’s environment on their behalf.

Certification is not required for:

  • Nonprofits using MemberJunction for their own operations
  • Any organization using MemberJunction internally
  • Anyone using MemberJunction for non-production purposes (development, testing, evaluation)
  • Anyone working with versions of MemberJunction released under the ISC License (all versions prior to v6.0.0)

The MemberJunction Certified Program includes three credentials:

MemberJunction Certified Associate — For staff who work in MemberJunction without implementing it for others. A competence signal, not a license requirement. Available to client staff, partner staff, and portfolio company staff.

MemberJunction Certified Engineer — For practitioners who implement MemberJunction for clients. Covers platform internals, integration architecture, AI agents, and application development. Earned through MemberJunction Academy capstone completion. This is the credential that qualifies a firm for Partner status.

MemberJunction Certified Partner — A firm-level authorization. Requires a minimum of two MemberJunction Certified Engineers on staff, an executed MemberJunction Certified Partner Agreement, professional liability insurance, and compliance with the program’s code of conduct.
